Richard Peard

PEARD

Richard Peard, aged about 70 years, died at Bethesda hospital in Cincinnati last Thursday at noon. Mr. Peard was born February 26, 1841, in County Cork, Ireland, and when 16 years of age came to America and located in Madison county. where he worked and farmed for several years after which he came to London and engaged in business in which he continued for a number of years. He was successful and succeeded in laying up a good share of this world's goods. He was married on February 12, 1878, to Miss Mary Fogarty. To this union eight children were born, six of whom survive: John, Walter, Henry, Helen and Mrs. Charles Truax of London and Mrs. John Lucik of New Albany, Ind. The body was brought to London Thursday evening and taken to the home on North Oak street, where it remained until Monday morning at 8 o'clock when the funeral services were held and the body was buried in the Catholic cemetery.
