On February 12th, 1879 in the small city of Stuckey, Germany, Sylvenie Haupt, wife of John, gave birth to a baby girl, christened Agnes Mary.
Seven years later her mother brouught her to this county to join John, her father who had settled in the village of West Jefferson, Ohio, where the little girl grew to womanhood, and on August 18th, 1898 she was united in holy wedlock to John Henry Brake.
To this union were born six daughters, Emerica, Etha, Mildred, Nellie, Minnie and Virginia Ann who, with their father and eight grandchildren survive her since her untimely death on the afternoon of July 18th, at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 6 days, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Thirty Seven.
Always a devoted Mother,and wife, she was simple in her tastes and the habits of her life. As as child she learned the lesson of reverence for the Bible and built her life upon faith in its message. That faith produced in her that cheerfull, happy optimisim that made her courageous in times of discouragement.
Revently and humbly we set this hour apart to greatfully acknowledge the splendid life of she who will always remain with us in precious memory.
