Biography of Miss Olive Rowand

From Madison Democrat 50th Anniversary
Published by the Madison Democrat, 1908

The subject of this sketch is a native of the county. She established her present popular millinery store on Main street in 1906. She had several years' experience in the largest cities throughout the state as a trimmer and in that way thoroughly learned the milliner's art. She is devoted to her work, making a special study of designs, and in every way keeping up with the newest and most tasteful creations in ladies hats and bonnets. Miss Rowand attends all of the great millinery openings and displays and loses no opportunity nor spares no expense to obtain the models most in vogue, or most talked about. Her store is always attractive because of its beauty and novelties in headgear.
